choosing connection is worth it!
Cultural & Accessibility Consultation
I often say that I walk between worlds, which is one of the things that draws me to therapy. But I’m not just a therapist. I’m also a proud disabled, queer, biracial person of white and Southwest Asian/North African Jewish descent, and have navigated multiple cultures, ways of seeing, and ways of being, for as long as I can remember.
My experience in the therapy field has led to some irreplaceable learning about how to support others in making sure their businesses, practices, and communities are considering and welcoming the needs of those on the margins. If this is something you’re interested in (and you’re not a former therapy client or hoping to become a therapy client in the future!) please drop me a line. I’m always interested in connecting with other people who prioritize emotional, cultural, and physical accessibility in their lives.
As a graduate of IFS Level 1 training via the IFS institute, I am also particularly interested in connecting with LGBTQ/BIPOC/disabled IFS therapists!
In my clinical and consultation work I prioritize decolonial perspectives and oppose colonialism, imperialism, and occupation in all forms.
I’m happy to talk for free, payment, or trade — whatever ends up seeming right.
Accessibility at the Office
My office space is ADA accessible with the following features:
✧ Automated front door, manual inner doors with wheelchair clearance.
✧ ADA accessible width for all doorways and hallways.
✧ No stairs are required to reach my office.
✧ ADA accessible bathroom on the same floor as my office.
✧ I maintain a scent free office with no overhead lighting.
My COVID Policy
I am immunocompromised and value disability justice.
In accordance, I commit to the following practice policies:
✧ I wear a KN95 mask and run two air purifiers in all therapy sessions.
✧ I will cancel in-person sessions if I have any symptoms of COVID or have had exposure to COVID in the last 10 days before your appointment.
✧ I require all clients to sign a COVID policy agreement stating that they will not attend in-person sessions if they have any symptoms of infectious illness or any known exposures to anyone who is sick, with a known COVID infection or otherwise.
✧ If a client arrives to an appointment with observable symptoms of infectious illness, I will ask them to reschedule, will charge a late-cancellation fee, and they will not be seen. I will not reschedule in-person appointments until 10 days past the cessation of symptoms.
✧ I will always offer the option to turn an in-person session into a telehealth session so you don’t have to go without services.
✧ I appreciate clients wearing a KN95 mask in session, and provide them.
However, I do not require (most) clients to wear masks at this time, as I understand doing so can affect your experience in therapy.
✧ I request that all clients over 5 years of age who choose not to wear a KN95 mask in session maintain 6+ feet of social distance.
✧ I’m unable to see clients in-person who have high exposure to illnesses (such as working in nursing, dentistry, or early childcare without wearing a mask) unless they wear a KN95 mask in sessions.
✧ I reserve the right to amend this policy at my discretion, either temporarily during high-transmission times of year, or permanently as my personal health needs may dictate.

My philosophy
I practice the belief that choosing connection is worth it by working collaboratively with you through every part of our journey. Through focusing on your inherent strengths and wisdom, we connect professionally so you can move forward with security and self-compassion.
My Background & Approach
I completed a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling in 2017. I combine relational & individual therapy techniques to create a customized treatment plan for every client, with a special emphasis on trauma-informed care, parts work, and attachment-based perspectives.
I have focused my career on working with LGBTQ, disabled, and ethnically & racially marginalized clients, and personally hold these identities.
When not in practice I enjoy singing, nature walks, reading historical fiction, stargazing, and engaging in spirituality & celebration with my cherished community and loved ones!
Licensure & Certifications
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #T2417. I am registered under my legal name, Stella Jones.
I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) #155584.
I am Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 Trained through the IFS Institute, with an LGBTQ & BIPOC focus!
I have completed continuing education in the following specializations:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, Somatic Experiencing therapy, CBT for psychosis, domestic violence prevention and response, suicide prevention and response, substance use and mental health dual diagnosis, transgender medical letter writing, and cultural competency for serving Native American/Alaska Native individuals, families, and two-spirit people.
Every year I complete 20 continuing education hours, so my practice is always growing and evolving!
A Note on Disability and Accessibility
I am a therapist who lives with disabilities. Although I strive my hardest to ensure that my limitations do not interrupt or impact our work, it may occasionally be the case that I have to change our plans for medical reasons.
This can look like needing to wear a heating pad, gently stretch, eat a small snack, move in my seat while we talk, get started 5 - 15 minutes later than our scheduled time, or (rarely) cancel/reschedule on the same day as your appointment or end a session early. Generally fewer than 3% of my appointments per client are cancelled/rescheduled due to illness, and fewer than 1% are ended early.
In most sessions, I utilize HIPAA-compliant audio transcription software to mitigate the amount of typing I need to engage in while still maintaining a comprehensive clinical record. You are always welcome to ask questions about this feature of my practice, and opt out of it at any time.
I welcome any/all feedback about how the above affects your experience in therapy, and am happy to collaborate with you so we are both able to comfortably be present in sessions. I highly encourage you to share with me what you need to be physically and emotionally comfortable too.
